Normally, available grants, scholarships and funding can be accessed using the URL https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/intra-africa/library/intra-africa-academic-mobility-scheme-selected-projects_en  however, it is important to note that there might be changes due to the coronavirus pandemic it is therefore necessary to take time to go through all the available information on the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme’s portal.

My name is Stanley Uche, a recipient of EU-Africom scholarship. On the 11 th  of November 2018, I was one of the candidates selected by the European Union to participate in the  Africom   scholarship to study Computer Science at the University of Yaoundé 1, Cameroon.  The scholarship was a life-changing opportunity, apart from studying computer science, I got to learn French, meet different people from different parts of the world, and travelled around Cameroon to have the feel of different ways of life; Cameroon and the scholarship were really fun and in the next posts, I will go into details about what I had to gain by participating in  Africom . My reasons for starting this blog is to create awareness and sensitisation about the   Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme of the EuropeanUnion , the benefits and procedures for looking-up, applying and successfully acquiring a scholarship from the European Union as an African as well as other opportunities.

WHAT YOU STAND TO BENEFIT BY SECURING A EUROPEAN UNION SCHOLARSHIP   The European Union offers a lot of scholarships targeted to African Students. I was one of the 7 Nigerian students selected by the European Union to participate in the AFRICOM project and just 6 of us were the only passengers on the aircraft from Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos State, Nigeria to Nsimalen International Airport, Yaoundé, Cameroon.     Apart from being the only passengers on the aircraft, we were given red-carpet reception, for example, before we got to Yaoundé, the Africom officials were already there waiting for us with ready vehicles to convey us to our already prepared apartments- (the apartments were top-notch).   When it comes to the monetary aspect, we were paid in EURO and we were paid several allowances ranging from settling-in-allowances, monthly stipends travel allowances as well as medical insurance.
